Development in the Last Few Months
So, while I've been relaxing there sure has been all kinds of development occuring downtown and around the city... here are some highlights:
- Cadillac Ranch - Opened on the back of Fountain Square across from CAC. A little cheesy and not really my scene, but they did a great job with the outdoor seating area.
- Lodge Bar - Opened up next to McFadden's. Great little bar, and great to work with, have already had two parties there for Katrina and Give Back.
- Nada - The owner of Boca is opening an 'upscale' Mexican restaurant in the Old Bella space across from CAC.
- Boi Na Braza and Morton's - Both opened at the corner of 5th and Vine, and Boi Na Braza is amazing, a bit pricey but really awesome.
- Graeter's - Opened on Monmouth a block up from the Levee and will be soon open on the square.
- Steamboat Bagels - About ready to open on Foutain Square.
There are SOOOO many more around town, but downtown is really turning the corner... great to see!

City is Growing
Twice in a year, it has been determined that the Census numbers for Cincinnati are wrong. THe newest information based on a study by Social Compact a non-profit urban analyst, indicates that Cincinnati has 368,868 residents. This is 60,000 more than the original Census study and 37,000 more than the 'revised' numbers from last year.
What does this all mean... it means that there are more people in Cincinnati with more buying power than previously tought. Mayor Mallory is going to Las Vegas armed with this information to the Retail convention to lure new retailers to Cincinnati. First on my list (and hopefully his) is a downtown full-service grocery. Sure would be nice if our own Kroger would step up, but I'd actually prefer a Whole Foods.

Bagel Shop - Newport
Steamboat Bagels will open on Monmouth Street a block away from the levee next month. It will sit in between the Dry Cleaners, and the planned Greater's on Monmouth.
I thought about opening a bagel shop on Monmouth about a year ago, but realized I had no idea how to make bagels...
Anyway, this is directly on my route to work, so I am guessing I'll be a regular at Steamboat.
Side Note - Arthur Leech is also opening Restaurant Mandolin on the 600 block of York St in Newport this summer.
Funny aside - thought this was amusing... "The city introduced Leech to Tom Robertson, who owned a four-story building in the 1880s with a large available first-floor space". If that dude owned a building in the 1880s he must be like 150 years old, someone call Guiness Book of World Records.
