New Orleans Here We Come
Well.. June is always crazy for me with Paint the Town planning and execution in Early June. This year it's been even more crazy, as I have been helping to plan the second trip of Katrina Collaboration (coalition of GIve Back Cincinnati and Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals).
But the time is upon us, so whatever hasn't been taken care of isn't going to... I have created a blog that I will be tracking our progress as we make the trip down... check it out:

I'll try to update it during the week with pictures and stories...
As we get ready to leave, I've created a playlist on lala.com to occupy me for at least part of the 16 hour bus ride to N'Awlins. Check it out:

More Music - Pandora
I blogged about Pandora last week. It's a cool site (less directly customizable than lala.com), but it allows you to create stations. Those stations then generate music based on the music genome project that does a very good job of finding other artists (some you have heard of, some you haven't) that are similar in style to those that you like.
You can also share out playlists from that site. I have created a 'Quick Mix' based on about 2 dozen artists I like. You can then listen to this station for a sample of the type of music I supposedly like. As I mentioned, as opposed to Lala.com that allows you to pick out specific artists and specific songs for a radio playlist, the Pandora playlist is 'computer' generated.
Check out my Pandora Quick Mix here... make your own and send it over to me!

New Lala.com
I've posted about lala.com before and I love it... here are the reasons why I previously loved it:
1) Saved WOXY.com - The Cincinnati-based world's best radio station. woxy was to be wiped from the face of the earth and the backers of lala.com swooped in with cash to keep them going.
2) Cheap CDs - I still love Shake It and buy 99% of my music there because I like to interact with real people... but every once in a while there's a CD you want, and lala.com sells new CDs for cheaper than you can shake a stick at.
3) Trade CDs - They have an amazing service that lets you send and recieve CDs from others for $1/CD... but what's really great about that, is that the artists get a cut of the proceeds from that trade, so it's WAY better than burning CDs.
Well, lala.com went and made themselves even better... you can now 'upload' your music to the site. They keep record of all the music you own, and you can log in from any internet connection and have complete access to your entire music library. Not just from your home PC, but from ANY PC... Okay, not cool enough? Well it gets even better.. you can create what amounts to your own internet 'radio station'. You create your own playlists and then you share them out...
My first try at this will be the 2006 Hansbauer Holiday CD...it's basically my best of 2006. You can listen to it by clicking below (if you weren't already sent it before). I am also going to attempt to create a new playlist about once per week with some interesting music, a mix of new and old. So click below and enjoy! And be sure to check out lala.com, it's amazing.
