I assume that most everyone that reads this blog (yeah, both of you), know that I'm a pretty big live music fan. 2006 actually turned out to be better than I thought it was going to be, and here is my best of list. This is actually the CD I created for the best music of the year, and it's followed by a listing of the albums the songs came from.

The only song (I think) on the list that is not from 2006 is 'Marching In', as a tribute to Katrina Collaboration's trip to New Orleans in August... what a fun trip that was!

Comments:
Loved the album, great artists, great tunes. I just want to highlight a few 2006 new albums that were not mentioned (variety of reasons).
Old Crow Medicine Show- long awaited return of a David Rawlings produced album, bring them back to the Nati on tour. I missed them at Tall Stacks
Damien Rice- Much different then O, check it out and don't expect the same soft sides.
Snow Patrol- Yeah, they've become more mainstream, but still got it.
The Strokes- What? You left them off.
John Mayer- Jay has a certain dislike, not all songs are written well, but he's grown as an artist
Be Good Tanyas- I love girls bands and they've got it.
Neko Case- Come on Austin lovers gather round.
Kim Taylor- cool local who owns the best coffee shop in town
Ray LaMontagne- Makes me want lay on the lawn during a sunny day and listen to a day of music
Amos Lee- New found love that EVERYONE should check
Jakes Speed- Speedy Delivery column of weekly songs, not an album but fun tunes.
Anxiously awaiting '07! ! !!
Thanks for sharing all the tunes. Everyone let me know what's coming and any new music. BG
